Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a seasoned Machine Learning Engineer to design and build production-grade models in speech/audio and computer vision. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle from dataset curation through deployment, partnering with software and product teams to ship low-latency AI features.

You will research, design, train, and productionize models, architect large training pipelines, and optimize for CPU/GPU/edge deployments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in machine learning/deep learning engineering with production exposure to speech/audio and/or computer vision.
• Strong proficiency in PyTorch; TensorFlow/Keras; familiarity with JAX is a plus.
• Deep expertise in Wav2Vec 2.0, Whisper, ESPnet, SpeechBrain, torchaudio, librosa.
• Solid background in CV pipelines and related tools like OpenCV and Albumentations.
• Experience with deployment and optimization for production inference (quantization, pruning, distillation).

Responsibilities

• Research, design, train, and productionize DL models for speech/audio and CV use cases.
• Architect training pipelines for large-scale datasets and manage preprocessing/versioning workflows.
• Select and adapt state-of-the-art architectures and fine-tune models for production constraints.
• Optimize models for inference focusing on latency, throughput, and memory budgets.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into production systems and design APIs.
• Define and track evaluation benchmarks and monitor performance in production.
• Stay current with research and contribute to internal technical forums.
