Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build core ML foundations powering agentic experiences. You will work on production systems, retrieval pipelines, and model integration with Mastra and TypeScript.

You will collaborate with backend, frontend, and product teams to deploy robust, scalable ML features while ensuring security and observability across the Nova platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a ML Engineer or similar role focused on production systems.
• Strong Python or TypeScript engineering skills with ML workflows.
• Experience with retrieval systems, vector databases, or RAG architectures.
• Experience integrating ML/LLM features into production apps.
• Knowledge of ML evaluation, experimentation design, and failure analysis.
• Ability to lead complex projects and work independently in ambiguity.
• Strong communication in distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ML platform components for agentic systems.
• Develop retrieval pipelines, indexing strategies, and model integration layers.
• Operationalize RAG use cases from data sourcing to runtime retrieval.
• Create generalized evaluation frameworks for LLM- and agent-based features.
• Provide abstractions and tooling for teams to build ML/LLM experiences.
• Work with backend engineers to productionize ML features with reliability.
• Prototype applied ML solutions to validate feasibility before full builds.
• Ensure secure handling of data in ML workflows and retrieval ops.
• Collaborate with product/design/engineering to align ML with UX and goals.
• Contribute to Nova agent framework improvements with Mastra and TS.
