Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced MIP Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Microsoft Purview DLP policies and sensitivity label programs. You will lead data protection across Microsoft 365, integrate labeling with DLP controls, and support CUI compliance within a complex enterprise.

The role emphasizes collaboration with security, compliance, and business teams. The ideal candidate has ~5 years in Microsoft Information Protection, strong analytical skills, and experience with SharePoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 9 years in the field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience implementing Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering DLP, Purview DLP, and sensitivity labels.
• Experience developing and maintaining data protection policies and controls.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security architecture and compliance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop and tune DLP controls to protect sensitive data from disclosure or exfiltration.
• Analyze new technologies like Microsoft Copilot for impacts on DLP controls.
• Support implementation of DLP controls for new applications and platforms.
• Perform policy testing, validation, and user acceptance activities before production.
• Investigate and resolve DLP incidents, alerts, and user requests.
• Review DLP policies to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders on DLP requirements.
