Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Remote MIP Engineer to support enterprise data protection initiatives, focusing on DLP, Purview Information Protection, CUI compliance, and AI security through Copilot. The role requires ~5 years of experience with DLP, labeling, and compliance within large enterprises.

The position is located in Washington, DC, but fully remote, offering collaboration with security, compliance, and business teams to implement and enhance information protection controls across Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 9+ years of experience.
• Approximately 5 years implementing and supporting Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering Microsoft Purview DLP, MIP, and 365 Compliance solutions.
• Experience supporting CUI or similar information classification programs.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop and tune DLP controls to protect sensitive organizational data from disclosure or exfiltration.
• Analyze Copilot security impacts and enhance DLP controls accordingly.
• Support DLP deployment for new apps and platforms.
• Perform policy testing, validation, and user acceptance for production deployments.
• Investigate DLP incidents, alerts, and user requests.
• Review DLP policies for effectiveness and compliance.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders to update DLP requirements.
• Administer and enhance Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Sensitivity Label programs.
• Design/tune labeling strategies to support CUI and data classification.
• Develop controls to integrate labels with DLP and other security tools.
• Assist with SharePoint Online labeling implementations.
• Evaluate Copilot security capabilities and governance needs.
