Job summary

Health & Environment Funders Network (HEFN) is seeking a proactive Member Engagement and Communications Manager. This role will maintain and strengthen relationships with funder partners across the national network, leveraging communications to keep members engaged and aligned with HEFN’s mission to advance environmental health and justice.

You will collaborate with staff and member leaders on engagement strategies, storytelling for engagement, and coordination of events, while upholding equity

Qualifications

• Five to seven years’ experience in relationship management, member engagement, or community organizing.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• A working knowledge of social media platforms and email/listserv databases.
• A working familiarity with foundations and the philanthropic system.
• Self-directed with strong organizational skills.
• Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and willingness to model vulnerability.
• Sensitivity to power dynamics within our member organizations and the communities we support.
• Strong grounding in the principles and practice of equity, justice and anti-racism.

Responsibilities

• Lead Member Engagement Strategies, ensuring partners stay informed, invested, and aligned.
• Build and nurture relationships with HEFN members and funders across the network.
• Develop and manage communications and storytelling that engage funders and supporters.
• Coordinate virtual and in-person events and meetings for member convenings.
• Oversee Membership Operations ensuring smooth onboarding and ongoing engagement.
