Actalent is seeking a Remote MedPharma Pharmacy Technician to support Medicare/Medicaid operations from a home office. You will handle prior authorizations, data entry, and clinical review with HIPAA-compliant practices, while communicating with patients and providers.

The role emphasizes independent work, training progression from intake to full technical review, and a collaborative team culture, with flexible scheduling and remote work setup.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacy technician certification or equivalent credential.
• Experience in managed care or Medicare/Medicaid environments.
• Prior authorization workflow experience and data-entry accuracy.
• Strong customer service and phone communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle the intake process for prior authorizations and set up cases in internal systems.
• Collect, document, and submit required information for review.
• Transition cases from intake to the review team in a timely manner.
• Perform technical review of prior authorization cases after training.
• Read criteria, SOPs, and insurance documents to determine coverage.
• Make clinical determinations on whether medications are approved or denied.
• Provide professional customer service over the phone to patients and providers.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and work remotely with strong data security.
• Collaborate with team virtually and participate in rotating coverage.
• Develop from intake duties toward full technical review capabilities.
