Job summary

Expansion International is partnering with a healthcare interpreting provider to build a team of Medical Video Remote Interpreters across languages, including Korean. Roles are fully remote across the US with training provided.

Prior interpreting experience helps but is not required, given strong bilingual fluency and understanding of interpreting concepts. Candidates will interpret between English-speaking clinicians and Korean-speaking patients via video, with occasional phone sessions, in

Qualifications

• Fluent, professional level verbal communication in both English and Vietnamese.
• Understanding of medical interpreting; informal experience can count.
• Ability to interpret medical information accurately in both languages.
• Willingness to complete a medical interpreting proficiency assessment.
• Cultural responsiveness and comfort in the US healthcare context.
• Strong reliability and sound judgement with a customer-service mindset.
• Comfort with video conferencing platforms and new remote tech.
• Able to pass background and drug screening.
• Dedicated home workspace: private, locked, distraction-free with wired internet.
• Comfortable being on camera for most of each shift.
• Based in Vietnam and available to work remotely.
• Night shift hours aligned with US Eastern Time.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate video interpreting between English and Korean, with some phone sessions.
• Keep meaning intact; avoid adding or omitting information.
• Follow professional interpreter ethics, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy rules.
• Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and patient-centered service.
• Present professional conduct before, during, and after sessions.
• Adapt to evolving technology, workflows, and service requirements.
• Participate in required training, coaching, and quality activities.
