Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Medical Science Liaison to serve as the external scientific expert for Medical Affairs. You will identify and cultivate key opinion leaders and educate HCPs about disease states and products in the endocrinology pipeline.

The role is remote and reports to the Director, Field Medical Team. Candidates should have MD/PhD/PharmD with 5+ years pharma MSL experience and willing to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience as a medical science liaison.
• Pediatric endocrinology, endocrinology or rare disease experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for virtual and live settings.
• Willingness to travel ~50-75%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-based external facing medical representation of Medical Affairs.
• Create awareness of Ascendis Pharma in the endocrinology community and communicate the potential of TransCon technology.
• Maintain high level of medical expertise to support the portfolio/pipeline and relevant disease states (e.g., bone and growth).
• Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and organizations for disease states within a geography.
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan that fosters collaborative relationships within geography.
• Capture external insights about disease state, portfolio and competitors for internal stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with internal colleagues (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Sales).
• Collaborate with MOSLs to support regional deliverables and presentations.
• Participate in Field Medical Team strategic goals and objectives.
• Provide scientific support at medical congresses and internal/external meetings.
• Onboard and train commercial and medical colleagues.
• Engage with external researchers for IITs.
