Job summary

Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is seeking an Admissions Counselor to help reach student recruitment goals and represent AWSOM to prospective students and pre-health advisors.

This role supports all aspects of recruitment, including marketing, screening applications, and enrollment communications, with remote work options for events. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to travel and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent presentation skills; professionalism in front of groups.
• Strong organizational skills, data handling, and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel throughout the year and work evenings/weekends for events.
• Must maintain insurable driving record.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Represent AWSOM at national, regional, and local medical school fairs and conferences, virtual and in person.
• Coordinate recruitment events and travel, engaging with organizations and programs.
• Host admissions on-campus and virtual events to showcase the program.
• Deliver presentations about AWSOM, admissions process, and expectations to prospective students and community members.
• Screen applications and maintain timely communications with applicants and stakeholders.
• Cultivate relationships with health professions advisors, applicants, faculty, staff, physicians, and community members.
• Serve as primary contact for prospective students on admissions process, curriculum, and services.
• Attend conferences/workshops to stay current with trends in medical education, recruitment, and admissions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including administrative tasks.
