Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical records setting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Typing speed 50 wpm.
• Familiar with fax, copier, and scanning equipment.
• Quick to learn new equipment and processes.
• Self-motivated, team player with strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process release of information requests accurately and timely.
• Retrieve patient charts, scan records, and transmit data per procedures.
• Date stamp requests and highlight pertinent data for processing.
• Validate requests and authorizations per policy and HIPAA rules.
• Perform quality checks for confidentiality and invoicing accuracy.
• Maintain and operate equipment; keep work area neat and compliant.
• Provide excellent customer service and address client concerns proactively.
• Handle incoming inquiries via mail, phone, and fax as needed.
