Job summary

Sharecare is seeking a detail-oriented Release of Information Clerk to process patient information requests remotely, verify authorizations, scan records, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering high-quality service.

Role requires strong computer skills, ability to multi-task, and reliable teamwork. Prior medical records experience is preferred. This is a full-time remote position supporting diverse clients across the healthcare ecosystem.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred.
• Strong computer software experience - Word and Excel required.
• Excellent organizational skills are a must.
• Ability to type 50 wpm; proficient with fax, copier, scanning machines.

Responsibilities

• Completes release of information requests including retrieving patient charts and returning charts, scanning records accurately and transmitting daily.
• Date stamps all requests and highlights pertinent data to facilitate processing.
• Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to procedures.
• Performs quality checks on all work to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
• Maintains equipment and work area in good condition and observes dress code.
