Job summary

Zekai is seeking Medical Records Coders to work remotely from the United States on a contract basis. The role requires CCS, CIC, or CPC certification and hands-on expertise with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.

You will annotate and code medical records to support AI training, identify diagnoses, modifiers, and POA indicators, and ensure adherence to official guidelines. Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve data quality.

Qualifications

• Active CCS, CIC, or CPC certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding.
• Experience coding from medical records in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and review medical records with accurate code assignment (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS).
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses and assign modifiers and POA indicators.
• Apply Official Guidelines and coding clinic guidance while flagging documentation gaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Provide feedback on coding guidelines and complex cases to improve AI model training.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of all coding annotations.
