Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas Medical Physics license required.
• Board certification by a recognized medical physics board is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses.
• Develops radiation safety policies and practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for x-ray equipment and imaging modalities.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and provides recommendations.
