Job summary

SCAN Health Insurance in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Medical Management Support professional for a temporary remote role (3-6 months). The position supports the Medical Management department by responding to provider calls, entering data into CCMS, and assisting with authorization and claims processing under clinical staff guidance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 3+ years of medical experience in managed care, proficiency with data entry, ICD-9/CPT coding knowledge, and strong MS

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical experience in a managed care environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with data entry required.
• Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to provider calls and faxes; enter inpatient data into CCMS and support authorization of SCAN services under clinical staff guidance.
• Process claims for inpatient and outpatient services; triage events per departmental guidelines.
• Verify member data by researching eligibility, benefits, and provider status.
• Maintain telephone standards by answering calls within established turnaround times.
• Collaborate with network providers to ensure services are provided within the benefit plan.
• Adhere to quality, compliance and regulatory standards; maintain confidentiality.
