Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of medical experience in managed care preferred.
• Data entry proficiency required; ICD-9/CPT coding experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and utilization management.
• Excellent telephonic communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support authorization, monitoring and processing of inpatient/outpatient claims.
• Enter data into the designated system and triage as per guidelines.
• Verify member data, eligibility, benefits, and network status.
• Maintain timely phone communications and professional provider relations.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality of member information.
• Adhere to quality, compliance and regulatory standards.
