Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and board-certified in a surgical specialty or equivalent.
• Active unrestricted medical license and ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Minimum of 5+ years of clinical practice after residency.
• Proven understanding of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM).
• Solid PC skills: MS Word, Outlook, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct coverage reviews based on member benefits and policies; render coverage determinations.
• Document clinical findings, actions, and outcomes per policies and accreditation requirements.
• Engage with providers in peer-to-peer discussions as needed.
• Interpret benefit language and policies for clinical coverage reviews.
• Participate in daily clinical rounds and collaborate with network and non-network providers.
