Datavant is seeking a Provider Practice Coding Consultant to guide healthcare professionals on improved coding practices and compliance. You will work with clients and healthcare leaders to identify solutions and deliver education, supporting accurate coding across hospitals and alternative care settings.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of coding experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with aptitude for remote work.
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software.
• Must pass annual HIPAA exam and related testing.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes (CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS).
• Conduct data quality reviews for compliance with coding guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and hospital staff about clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Uphold Datavant and HIM Division policies and promote compliance.
