Job summary

Zekai is seeking a Coding Author for a 100% remote contract to help develop training content for AI-driven medical coding systems. You will author scenarios, rationales, and rubrics, and review guidelines to ensure accuracy across ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.

You will collaborate with project stakeholders, write comprehensive explanations, and deliver high-quality training material to support model learning and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Active CCS/CIC/CPC credential.
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT with coding experience.
• Experience writing or reviewing training content or exams.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic medical coding scenarios, clinical documentation excerpts, and coding questions across settings.
• Write detailed answer keys and rationales with guidelines and conventions.
• Build evaluation rubrics and test cases of varying difficulty for AI model assessment.
• Review and revise coding content to align with ICD-10-CM/PCS, AHA Coding Clinic, CPT guidance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Provide feedback to improve coding guidelines and complex cases.
