The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in Medical Record Technology, professional coding certification, and at least four years of coding experience

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Record Technology (or equivalent).
• Certification in Medical Coding or two years of professional coding certification with medical terminology training.
• Four years of coding experience, with at least two in surgical abstraction.

Responsibilities

• Support codes from final surgical/procedural reports.
• Review complex medical records for documentation support.
• Collaborate with Epic to optimize workflow and templates.
• Audit provider records for compliance with coding standards.
• Educate physicians and staff on CPT and ICD-10 coding to improve accuracy.
