Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor to ensure the accuracy and compliance of professional coding services across patient records and documentation. You will collaborate with clinicians, coders, and compliance teams to support proper reimbursement and regulatory adherence.

The role requires CCS-P/CPC/RHIA/RHIT or equivalent certification, 2+ years in medical billing or coding, and strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Coding certification through a nationally recognized organization (CCS-P, CPC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H) required.
• Two years of experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of medical coding and documentation for professional coding services.
• Review patient records and coded data to identify discrepancies and coding issues.
• Collaborate with providers, coders, and compliance teams to support accurate coding practices.
• Support reimbursement and mitigate compliance risks through detailed coding reviews.
• Conduct chart reviews to evaluate coding accuracy and documentation quality.
• Participate in routine audits to maintain high standards of coding accuracy and compliance.
• Provide education and training on coding standards and documentation improvement.
• Analyze coding data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Generate audit reports with findings and recommendations.
