Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor to ensure accuracy and compliance of professional coding. The role reviews patient records, collaborates with clinicians and coding teams, and supports correct reimbursement and regulatory adherence.

This remote position requires a coding certification and 2+ years in medical billing or coding, with strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to document findings clearly.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of medical coding and documentation for professional coding services.
• Reviews patient records and coded data to identify discrepancies and coding issues.
• Collaborates with providers, coders, and compliance teams to support accurate professional coding practices.
• Generates audit reports and supports education and training on coding standards.
