You will assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures, applying DRG/APC rules with precision while following official coding guidelines. The role requires CPC/CCS-P credential and 2+ years of production coding in acute care and profee, with Epic and 3M experience as assets.

Qualifications

• Must have CPC/CCS-P or equivalent credential.
• Minimum of 2 years of current production coding experience in acute care and profee.
• Epic experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• Experience with 3M coding system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Abstract, code, sequence and interpret clinical data from inpatient/outpatient/ED/pro-fee records.
• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and principal & secondary procedures with correct sequencing.
• Apply DRG/APC reimbursement principles to assign appropriate codes.
• Follow official coding guidelines to review and analyze health records and ensure HIPAA/compliance.
• Extract data for reports and billing documents and maintain productivity/quality targets.
• Maintain adherence to AHIMA/AMA/AHA/CMS guidelines and 95% quality rating.
