Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Medical Coder for a remote contract with Hopedale Medical Complex. This 13-week engagement requires expertise in clinical documentation review, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding, and adherence to CMS guidelines.

Start date ASAP and day shift expectations apply. The role involves coding inpatient, outpatient, ED, surgical, and clinic encounters, abstracting data, and supporting denial resolution and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS and revenue coding.
• Understanding of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim formats.
• Active coding certification and/or state requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.
• Code inpatient, outpatient, ED, surgical, therapy, diagnostic, observation, swing-bed and clinic encounters.
• Apply modifiers, revenue codes, and occurrence codes for facility and professional claims.
• Ensure CMS compliance and accurate documentation for reimbursement integrity.
• Abstract coded data and enter into designated systems.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation and obtain coding details.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and participate in audits and denial resolution.
