What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

1. Perform inpatient medical coding and auditing for various medical specialties
2. Maintain advanced knowledge of ICD-CM, PCS, HCPCS, and CPT coding systems
3. Document at least one year of specialty performance for qualifying experience
4. Achieve a minimum passing score on the Medical Billing test
5. Stay updated on reimbursement systems and coding certifications

What is Required (Qualifications):

1. Minimum of five (5) years of medical coding and/or auditing experience in two (2) or more specialties within the past 10 years
2. Or a minimum of three (3) years of medical coding or auditing experience in a Military Treatment Facility (MTF)
3. Advanced knowledge of medical coding systems and reimbursement methods
4. Must possess relevant medical coding certifications (e.g., RHIT, RHIA)
5. Documented one year of performance in the specialty is required

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

1. Coding certifications other than those listed may be considered on a case-by-case basis
2. Experience in military or VA healthcare systems
3. Additional certifications related to medical auditing
