Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Coder responsible for accurately assigning ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures. The role supports billing, statistics and reimbursement while aligning with coding guidelines and revenue cycle collaboration.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and certification with RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC or eligible within one year. This is an hourly position with remote flexibility near an OSF location.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, disease processes, medical records and hospital procedures.
• Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction; basic keyboard and software skills.
• Able to communicate via written and verbal means; interact with supervisors, co-workers and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-CM/PCS & CPT/HCPCS codes to all pertinent diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure coding adheres to guidelines and supports statistical and reimbursement purposes.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle team to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
