Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• AAPC or AHIMA approved coding certificate program with relevant certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and coding guidelines
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
• Completed Medical Coding courses focused on ICD-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures for moderate complexity coding assignments
• Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to ensure appropriate billing and reimbursement
• Abstract required information for statistical and reimbursement purposes in compliance with coding guidelines
