Job summary

Farooq77 AI is seeking a Medical Coder contractor to apply outpatient coding expertise for annotating and reviewing records. You will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes, apply outpatient E&M leveling, and provide feedback on coding guidelines to improve model training.

Candidates should have hands-on outpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and knowledge of E&M conventions. This role offers remote work options (US only) and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Active CPC certification required.
• Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems and outpatient E&M leveling guidelines.
• Hands‑on experience coding in outpatient settings including primary care, specialty clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, or outpatient hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and review outpatient medical records from physician offices, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital outpatient encounters.
• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.
• Apply Evaluation & Management leveling to outpatient visits using official medical decision‑making or total‑time guidelines.
• Apply outpatient‑specific coding conventions, including diagnosis coding guidelines, modifier usage, medical necessity, and diagnosis-to‑procedure linking.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in clinical documentation.
• Provide expert feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases to improve project workflows and model understanding.
