Job summary

UnitedHealthcare is hiring a full-time medical coder to review and code professional and facility claims from a remote nationwide location. The role offers 40 hours per week, with flexibility to telecommute within the U.S. as you tackle challenging coding tasks.

You will undergo 2–3 weeks of paid training, with training hours 7:00–15:30 CST, Monday to Friday. A comprehensive benefits package, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions are provided where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Active coding certification (CPC, CPC-A, COC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, RHIA or RHIT) required.
• Minimum 1 year medical coding experience with CPT.
• Minimum 1 year medical coding experience with ICD-10.

Responsibilities

• Receive provider inquiries and perform code review for professional and facility claims.
• Make determinations on cases after coding review.
• Audit medical records and ensure proper editing.
• Review medical charts electronically.
• Abstract and code diagnoses and procedures.
• Code for benefit coding requests.
• Document information from medical records.
• Analyze medical record charts for coding compliance.
