Qualifications

• One (1) year of medical coding experience required with a CPC or CCS.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding classifications.

Responsibilities

• Review Chart Progress Notes and patient documentation for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Verify all diagnostic procedural codes from EHR.
• Communicate with providers for proper coding and reimbursement.
• Identify chargeable items to ensure proper CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Apply sequencing guidelines per ICD-10 for principal diagnosis and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology for coding.
• Mentor other coders and participate in ongoing education.
