Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records for outpatient services, ensuring accurate coding to support physician billing and compliant documentation.

Candidates should have at least two years of coding experience, CPC certification, and proficiency with EHR systems. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to navigate coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years coding experience and/or CPC coursework.
• Ability to perform in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy in coding and documentation.
• Knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes and HCPCS codes from provider documentation.
• Research coding/billing issues and recommend appropriate coding approaches.
• Analyze medical records to assess coding accuracy and detect potential abuse.
