Community Health Center of Snohomish County is seeking a Medical Coder to manage day-to-day coding and billing for grant-funded, state, county, and federal programs including Medicare and Medicaid managed care. The role emphasizes accuracy in ICD10/CPT coding, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with providers to optimize reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Reads, speaks, understands and writes proficiently in English.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and adjudicates coding of services from documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintains visit procedure codes and notes to identify ICD10 and CPT codes for charge processing.
• Ensures correct ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for proper reimbursement.
• Assigns E/M codes from patient notes per coding guidelines.
• Researches correct codes for routine or unusual diagnoses and procedures.
• Identifies modifiers (including 340B) for billing and reporting.
• Consults with providers for data clarification and missing documentation.
• Ensures documentation adheres to billing policies.
• Adheres to attendance standards for daily operations.
