Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with experience in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will work with patients and payers to ensure accurate reimbursements and timely payments, leveraging knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS within EHR/EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• CPC/CCS certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in medical billing, coding, insurance follow-up with EHR/EMR systems.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis.
• Knowledge of payer reimbursement guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience creating cost estimates for medical procedures.
• Experience preparing and submitting appeals for denied claims.
• Proficiency with medical billing software and EHR systems.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit claims to insurers and third-party payers.
• Code procedures using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage and contracts.
• Review billing data in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Use EHR/EMR platforms (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis) for workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals.
• Communicate billing questions to patients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of terminology and payer rules.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding.
