Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will work with patients and payers to ensure timely reimbursement, with proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or PrognoCis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical billing, coding, and insurance follow-up.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis).
• Familiarity with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in billing.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance and government payers.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage.
• Verify billing data in EHR/EMR prior to submission.
• Resolve claim denials and research discrepancies.
• Submit and track insurance appeals.
• Communicate billing questions with patients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on claims.
