Job summary

Harris & Harris is seeking an Early Out Representative to handle outbound calls, collect payments, and submit insurance claims for patients. This remote-friendly role offers a competitive hourly wage and a monthly bonus, with comprehensive health, retirement, and education benefits.

Responsibilities include posting payments, preparing claims, resolving billing issues, and maintaining confidentiality while complying with HIPAA and FDCPA rules. Local Chicagoland candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in medical billing.
• Experience collecting payments and handling patient billing issues.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and FDCPA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to collect, post, and manage account payments.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies either electronically or manually.
• Identify and resolve patient billing issues and complaints.
• Evaluate patient financial status and establish payment plans or arrangements.
• Report on status of delinquent accounts.
• Correct and resubmit claims to insurance companies and third-party payers.
• Investigate and correct rejected or denied claims.
• Translate patient information into alphanumeric and numeric medical codes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and FDCPA guidelines and regulations.
