Job summary

Harris & Harris is seeking an Early Out Representative to prepare and submit insurance claims and to reach out to collect and manage patient payments. The role offers a remote-friendly environment with preference for Chicagoland residents, a 23.00 USD/hour base and up to 200 USD/month bonus.

You will work closely with healthcare payers to resolve billing issues and establish payment plans. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of medical billing experience, knowledge of HIPAA/FDCPA, and familiarity

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of medical billing experience.
• Experience in collections.
• Experience speaking with customers and insurance providers.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and FDCPA.
• Knowledge of medical coding, billing, and third‑party billing procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to collect, post, and manage account payments.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies either electronically or manually.
• Identify and resolve patient billing issues and complaints.
• Evaluate patient financial status and establish payment plans or arrangements.
• Report on status of delinquent accounts.
• Correct and resubmit claims to insurance companies and third‑party payers.
• Investigate and correct rejected or denied claims.
• Translate patient information into alphanumeric and numeric medical codes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and FDCPA guidelines and regulations.
