Job summary

Digitech is seeking a Billing Specialist I to review PCRs, ensure medical necessity and correct ICD10 coding, and maintain billing accuracy across payor types. This role supports the revenue cycle by timely and compliant submission of claims.

Responsibilities include data entry, documentation, and information gathering from clients to submit third-party claims, while adhering to privacy policies and productivity standards in a remote work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of medical billing preferred.
• CAC certification preferred.
• Willing to attain QMC Biller Certification upon employment.
• Typing 35 wpm and basic computer skills.
• Customer service oriented with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and supporting documentation.
• Add required data elements to the account: ICD-9 codes, charges, and billing narratives.
• Ensure tasks comply with Quick Med Claims policies and state/federal guidelines.
• Meet or exceed defined productivity standards for the position.
• Notate accounts reviewed and attach documentation in the system.
• Obtain additional information from clients (HIPAA forms, pre-authorizations) needed to submit third-party claims.
• Review billing documents and validate claims electronically or on paper.
• Monitor workflows to ensure timely validation of claims.
• Process all insurance claim forms in accordance with laws and procedures.
• Provide accurate billing in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Demonstrate biller competency by achieving billing accuracy in QA and audits.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy policies and protect patient information.
