Job summary

Medsurity Experts is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Professional to review medical records, confirm CPT codes, and determine if bills are overcharged. This remote position offers a commission-based earning potential and an emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include coding/abstracting appointments, data analysis for reimbursement, correct code sequencing, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Previous experience as Medical Billing and Coder or similar role.
• Familiar with coding software and other computer programs.
• CPC preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, especially with V-Lookup.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to problem-solve.
• Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Account for coding and abstracting of patient medical appointments.
• Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement.
• Ensure codes are properly sequenced.
• Analyze, file, and process medical records.
• Keep detailed documentation of any deficiencies or issues with medical records.
• Provide education and training to other coding staff.
• Review and verify documentation.
