Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with 4 years medical billing/coding experience OR associate's degree or medical coding certificate with 2 years experience OR bachelor’s degree with some coding experience.
• Experience with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 and payer standards.
• Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality in handling PHI.

Responsibilities

• Process and code physician office visits, inpatient/outpatient encounters, and procedures in an academic setting.
• Review and correct charges in the EHR; follow up on unpaid claims with accounts receivable.
• Address patient statements, respond to inquiries, and maintain HIPAA compliance.
