Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant II for a 100% remote position supporting virtual primary care for the Charlotte market. The role requires NC or SC residency, a Medical Assistant program, and CMA/RMA certification with AHA BLS.

You will perform clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care from a remote setting. The position operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a daily lunch break, and offers a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a formal program.
• Certifications as CMA or RMA from recognized bodies (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NRMA, NAHP).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.
• Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory testing per infection control standards.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, appointments, and prescriptions.
