Job summary

Heartbeat Health seeks a Virtual Medical Assistant to join our remote clinical team, supporting patients and providers in a fully virtual setting. You will ensure smooth virtual visits, accurate documentation, and a compassionate patient experience while helping shape the future of digital heart care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant including virtual care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for physician visits.
• Connect with patients, ensure video/audio work, and add interpreters as needed.
• Obtain signed telehealth consent forms.
• Obtain photos of insurance cards.
• Prepare patients for physicians.
• Take medical information over the phone.
• Document medical history, medications, dosing, and primary complaint.
• Obtain baseline vitals and verify baseline labs.
• Conduct KCCQ survey.
• Answer incoming calls.
• Engage in confirmation calls for upcoming appointments.
• Perform chart checks and chart prep prior to patient visits.
• Schedule follow up appointments and labs.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
• Execute policies that promote the best patient experience.
