Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners seeks a proactive Communication Manager to lead media relations, thought leadership and program measurement. You will build relationships with health reporters, craft compelling narratives and support executives with interview preparation.

The role emphasizes data-driven storytelling, awards submissions, and strategic amplification across channels. This remote position requires travel to client sites or offices as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field.
• Strong media relations experience, including pitching, reporter research and relationship development.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling stories.
• Demonstrated curiosity about news, trends and issues influencing healthcare and business.
• Experience supporting executives or subject matter experts for media interviews and external opportunities.
• Proactive, creative approach with the ability to identify opportunities and move work forward independently.
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Comfort using data and analytics to evaluate communications performance and inform recommendations.
• Comfort using and learning Sprout Social, ACCESS Newswire and other press release distribution platforms, with the ability to manage workflows, support distribution and evaluate performance.
• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Copilot to improve research, content development, workflow efficiency and output quality while applying sound editorial judgment.
• Experience using or learning Canva to create or adapt professional communications assets is preferred.
• Healthcare, healthcare technology or complex B2B experience preferred.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.

Responsibilities

• Media Relations + Relationship Development: Build and deepen trusted relationships with reporters, editors, industry advocates and other voices.
• Identify timely story opportunities and develop targeted pitches grounded in trends, Ensemble expertise, data and priorities.
• Manage proactive and reactive media outreach, including reporter research, interview coordination, follow-up and coverage tracking.
• Maintain media lists, pitching calendars, relationship history and editorial opportunities for a repeatable media relations program.
• Monitor media conversations and emerging issues to identify opportunities for Ensemble to contribute expertise.
• Thought Leadership + Executive Support: Monitor trends to surface relevant media and thought leadership opportunities.
• Prepare briefing materials, talking points, background research and anticipated questions for media interviews and priority external opportunities.
• Coordinate opportunities from preparation through follow-up with spokespeople and internal partners.
• Awards + Strategic Amplification: Manage awards and recognition opportunities, including submissions and tracking.
• Measurement + Program Fundamentals: Establish tracking across media relationships, outreach, coverage and amplification; measure KPIs.
