Job summary

HRforGrowth is assisting a client in hiring a Mechanical Engineering Technician for a remote contractor role. You will design authentic technician workflows, build real-world data and evaluation materials, and document procedures with high accuracy for AI benchmark development.

The position emphasizes independent remote work, with flexible hours from 20 to 40 per week, and a compensation range of $30–$70 per hour based on experience. Experience in lab or production settings is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering tech environments.
• Associate degree or recognized trade credential preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, and prototype testing workflows.
• Ability to document test procedures, results, observations, and equipment failure modes in detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex test data.

Responsibilities

• Design and author authentic technician workflow tasks reflecting real-world challenges.
• Develop scenarios involving test setup, instrumentation, data collection, analysis, and failure diagnosis.
• Source, synthesize, and construct technical datasets based on realistic environments.
• Review test logs, calibration records, sensor outputs, measurements, and failure reports.
• Develop rigorous grading rubrics with 35+ evaluation criteria for instrumentation and data interpretation.
