Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support nuclear power plant projects on a 100% remote basis. You'll collaborate with a team of engineers to solve challenging design problems and deliver high-quality technical solutions for nuclear facilities.

Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical background, hands-on nuclear industry experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while communicating with clients and project partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• 5? years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design engineering for nuclear power plant projects
• Develop practical solutions to complex mechanical and electromechanical engineering challenges
• Perform and review engineering calculations, designs, specifications, and technical deliverables
• Evaluate systems using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science
• Provide technical guidance on mechanical design processes and construction methods
• Support Engineering Change Control processes for nuclear power generation utilities
• Apply applicable nuclear codes, standards, regulations, and Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements
• Partner with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams to define priorities and solve technical challenges
• Support projects from initial concept and analysis through design and implementation
• Prepare clear technical reports, documentation, and presentations
• Manage multiple engineering priorities while building strong relationships with clients and project partners
