Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program to design and engineer mechanical systems for government facilities, with 25% travel and telework options in the Eastern time zone.

Responsibilities include coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, producing drawings and specs, and ensuring compliance with ASHRAE/NFPA/ICC and energy codes. A Professional Engineer license and ABET ME degree are required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s.
• Professional Engineer license in good US standing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability.
• Experience with mechanical system design and analysis.

Aufgaben

• Design and engineer HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical utility systems for government facilities.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and calculations for procurement.
• Coordinate with architects, civil, structural, electrical, and controls disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, energy codes.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Civil 3D, and other tools to develop models.
• Utilize cost estimating software to support budgeting and approvals.
• Support construction administration through submittals, RFIs, site visits, commissioning.
• Fire protection systems design (sprinklers, smoke control).
