Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Architect/Engineer to support the FAA’s Office within the NISC program. The role involves leading space planning and architectural design for government facilities, with 25% travel and telework in the Eastern time zone.

You will develop drawings from concept to construction, ensure NFPA 101 life-safety and ADA accessibility, and coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants to deliver compliant, safe, efficient projects.

Qualifications

• Architectural or Engineering degree from an accredited college/university.
• 8+ years of design experience with government, commercial, or industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ProjectWise, Blue Beam/Bluebeam, Revit, Photoshop, SketchUp, Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead space planning and architectural design for government and institutional facilities per FAA regulations.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction drawings incorporating NFPA 101 and ADA accessibility.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants to integrate layouts.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility, and agency design criteria for public-sector facilities.
• Conduct space programming, circulation analysis, and occupant load planning to optimize safety and efficiency.
• Use software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Google Sheets) to develop floor plans and 3D models.
• Support construction administration through submittals, RFIs, site observations, and code verification.
