Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the FAA's NAS Integration Support (NISC) Program. This role involves designing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical utilities for government facilities, with emphasis on public procurement and long‑term operation.

The position requires a Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in the United States, 8+ years of mechanical design experience (or 6+ with a Master’s), and the ability to obtain Public Trust.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Professional Engineer license in good US standing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability.
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis.
• Experience testing and evaluation of mechanical systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and AutoCAD.
• Ability to create and edit projects in AutoCAD.

Responsabilidades

• Design and engineer HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical utilities for facilities.
• Prepare drawings, specs, equipment schedules, and calculations for procurement and bidding.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and controls disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, energy codes and design criteria.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, ventilation analysis and system sizing.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Civil 3D, Carrier HAP/Trace, eQUEST to develop models.
• Utilize cost estimating software to support budgeting and value engineering.
• Support construction administration through submittals, RFIs, site visits, and commissioning.
• Fire protection design including sprinklers and smoke control.
