Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Mechanical Designer/Drafter (Engineer II) to support the SRM Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will create detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications for propulsion hardware such as motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and interfaces.

This role supports design integration, configuration control, and the release of accurate, manufacturable mechanical designs.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in engineering with 2–4 years' experience.
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools and machinery.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Confers with engineers to implement procedures and resolve malfunctions.
• Researches design proposals and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Specifies system components or directs modification to ensure conformance with specifications.
