Hadron Energy, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to next-generation micro modular reactor design and Balance of Plant.

The role emphasizes mechanical design, drafting, and analysis, working with cross-disciplinary engineers to translate requirements into detailed CAD models and specifications. You will engage in DFMA considerations, produce engineering drawings, and support verification activities, all while advancing reactor components toward manufacturing and deployment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be actively enrolled for the duration of the internship.
• Prior internship/ design project experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software and drafting standards (GD&T) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design and drafting of reactor components and systems.
• Develop and update 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Assist with design assessments, trade studies, and optimization.
• Conduct basic mechanical calculations (loads, stresses, heat transfer).
• Collaborate with senior engineers across disciplines to implement design changes.
