Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to groundbreaking projects in a fully remote setting. You will design mechanical systems for high-precision manufacturing equipment and translate complex requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions.

You will collaborate with international teams, perform FEA and GD&T, and maintain detailed design documentation while working from home with flexible hours across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience with a strong project portfolio.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor or Fusion 360 and PDM/PLM systems.
• Experience with FEA for stress, thermal and vibration analysis.
• GD&T and clear manufacturing drawings; strong remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical components and systems for advanced manufacturing equipment using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions for remote manufacturing.
• Perform FEA and tolerance studies to ensure performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with remote teams including electrical, software, and project management via digital tools.
• Lead design reviews and provide feedback to improve mechanical designs.
• Source components, ensure compliance with requirements and budget.
• Troubleshoot design issues from prototyping through deployment.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control in a digital environment.
• Stay current with new technologies and design methods in mechanics.
