Job summary

JRAD in Springfield, VA is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support TSA engineering efforts. You will develop requirements artifacts including CONOPS, ORD and FRD and apply MBSE methods across the lifecycle.

The role offers a remote or telework option with preference for local candidates in the DC area. A BS in engineering and 5+ years in systems engineering and requirements development are required, with DHS/DoD acquisitions experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems/software/computer engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of experience in related systems engineering and requirements development.
• Knowledge in systems engineering, MBSE, systems development methodology, and project management.
• 2 Years experience with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, Rational Rose, DOORS or equivalents.
• Knowledge of the Development Life Cycle Framework for translating user requirements to functional and system level requirements.
• Preference for DHS or DoD acquisitions experience and writing CONOPS, ORD and FRD documents.
• Preference for knowledge and experience in the transportation security domain.

Responsibilities

• Support TSA Security Capabilities, Requirements and Engineering (R&E).
• Develop requirements artifacts (CONOPS, ORD, FRD) for current and future transportation security equipment.
• Promote and apply MBSE processes and tools to development work.
• Role includes telework or fully remote option with local candidate preference.
• Address other TSA engineering needs as determined.
